Sprawling 4 Bedroom Apartments for the Affluent Folks

Posted under Bedroom

The realty business is here to stay. Take a look around you and every third person you come across is busy hunting for a house. Take for instance Bangalore, the Silicon Valley of India. With an economic growth of 10.3% it is the fastest growing major metropolis in India. Fulfilling the needs of this emerging breed of global professionals is Total Environment, a Real Estate construction firm with its innovative approach be it hi-tech corporate campuses or for that matter 2/3/4 bedroom apartments.

Everybody says they’re quality conscious – but Total Environment has proved it time and again with their awe-inspiring structures including four bedroom apartments. This adherence to quality applies to all aspects of their work – from architecture and design to purchase, workman effort, overall construction supervision and functional design. Total Environment has a very unique and innovative approach when it comes to building residential blocks of 3 and 4 bedroom apartments. Focus is always on creating physical environments that are in perfect harmony with its surroundings. Every apartment has a terrace garden that gives the owners their own little patch of outdoors right at home.

Windmills of your mind, one of the ongoing projects speaks volumes of their out-of-the-box thinking. Located away from the Whitefield Main Roads, set beside a lake, this peaceful residential area spread over 24 acres offering 3 and 4 bedroom apartments will be beautifully landscaped. There are imaginative Homes and apartments where every living area is designed to have an open view of the tranquil and natural surroundings. These independent homes have been designed over three split-levels to allow for ample natural light and cross-ventilation. Every room opens out to the garden area to really let the outside in. One unique feature even lets you soak in a tub in the privacy of your very own bathroom garden. Not to mention a private pool and garden.

Total Environment is a real estate construction firm that is leagues ahead of the rest of the property developers in India. As the name suggest they don’t just protect the environment, but they do it in rather interesting and innovative ways. Their attempt is always to give the buildings that are essentially grounded in nature.

The Secret to Living With Allergies Part 4: for a Healthier Night’s Sleep, Start With Dust Control in the Bedroom

Posted under Bedroom

When you have indoor allergies to dust, mold and pet dander, you come into contact with allergy irritants all year round.  This contact can be the highest in your bedroom, where you come to rest and rejuvenate, but may end up worsening allergy symptoms. The high levels of allergens found in your bedroom can affect your health, and the path to a healthier night’s sleep is through reducing your exposure to allergens and therefore preventing allergy symptoms.  While steps should be taken throughout the home to reduce allergens, start in the bedroom as you spend the most time here.   When you take these allergy relief steps, you’ll be on your way to a healthier home and a healthier night’s sleep.

Step 1:  Cover Your Pillow and Mattress in Dust Mite-Proof Allergy Encasings

Over 1 million dust mites can live in a single bed.  These dust mites love the dark, warm and humid environment found in any bedding, such as your pillows, mattress, box spring, comforter, blankets or linens.  You are allergic to dust mite allergens, which are the dust mites’ dead bodies and fecal particles.  You can protect yourself from the large source of allergens within the bed by using allergy-proof covers (or ‘allergy encasings’), which create a barrier between you and the allergens inside.  Certain allergy encasings may also protect against pet dander that has built up in the bed and are helpful if you have pet allergies.  The allergy encasings zip fully around your pillow or mattress, and the most recommended encasings, such as Allergy Control® encasings, are made from tightly woven fibers that are breathable, totally comfortable and easy to care for.  Scientific studies prove the effectiveness of including these allergy encasings on your bed, and by taking this simple step, you can make a lasting difference toward a healthier night’s sleep.

Step 2:  Wash Your Bedding Frequently

After including Allergy Control® encasings on the bed, it’s important to wash any other bedding, such as linens or blankets, frequently in hot water.  Physicians recommended washing every 1 to 2 weeks, as hot water washing removes the dust mite allergens from bedding that contribute to your allergy symptoms.  If you prefer not to wash in hot water, special allergen-removing laundry products such as Allersearch Allergen Wash or de-mite Laundry Additive can remove dust mite allergens in any temperature.

Step 3:  Clean Regularly to Reduce Allergen Levels

Regular cleaning of your bedroom and home will keep allergen levels lower.  Focus on the bedroom, following these 6 Steps for Allergy Relief and then use similar methods throughout the House.  Prioritize your efforts to those cleaning steps that are the most practical and beneficial for removing allergens.  An allergy sufferer should avoid being home when cleaning is done, or wear a face mask when others clean or when doing the cleaning.  A face mask similar to Allergy Zone face mask includes a center valve that filters allergen particles while allowing breath to flow comfortably for easy use while cleaning.

Step 4:  Remove or Treat Carpeting, the Second Largest Source of Dust Mite Allergens

Dust mites like to burrow into the fibers of the carpet, and as a result, the carpet is the second largest source of dust mite allergens after the bed.  Removing the carpet in favor of hardwood or tile floors is the best option.  If removing the carpet is not possible, clean the carpet with an allergy-related carpet treatment that is designed to kill dust mites or denature (meaning to ‘deactivate’) allergens.  Also remove heavy curtains in favor of light, washable versions or blinds, and select leather or wipe-able furniture over stuffed upholstered furniture.

Step 5: Filter Air with HEPA Air Cleaners, Air Filters and HEPA Vacuums to Remove Airborne Allergens

Allergens can circulate in the air in your home and using air filters and HEPA filtration products such as HEPA Air Cleaners and HEPA Vacuum Cleaners will trap these allergens to decrease the irritants that you may inhale.  Allergy-free® air filters in your central air/heat system will trap allergens from further circulating through the vents.  HEPA air cleaners and HEPA air purifiers will trap 99.97% of allergens down to 0.3 microns that flow through the HEPA filter.  HEPA air cleaners will trap dust, mold spores, pollens and more and are especially helpful for pet allergies as pet dander remains airborne for longer periods of time for improved filtration.

Step 6:  Dehumidify Air to Reduce Dust Mite and Mold Levels

Dust mites and molds thrive in humid environments.  Keeping humidity levels below 50% will decrease the growth of each, which will reduce the allergens in your home. Use air conditioners and dehumidifiers to keep levels ideally between 35 – 40%.    Monitor humidity levels with a gauge to make sure that you’re in the right zone, even in the winter when using a humidifier.

Romancing the Bedroom…

Posted under Bedroom

A vision and some easy steps to creating your haven

Your bedroom is, in my opinion, one of the most important spaces in your home. Your bedroom is the first place you see in the morning, it’s where you spend time getting ready for the day, it’s where romance happens, and it’s the last place you see at night. It is a very important space!

I think of my bedroom as my own private retreat. A place that is beautiful to me, peaceful, inspiring, and nurturing to my being. When I open my eyes each morning the soft yellow walls make me feel as though the sun is shining even when it’s not. The pale blue ceiling gives me a sense of tranquility and the patterns and colors of the fabrics cheer me and make me smile. I appreciate the graceful curves of my French inspired dressers and the beauty of the unique triple mirror found at a thrift shop.

I have an old fashioned vanity table with a big mirror, a vintage French inspired chair and a pretty chandelier hanging from above. I sit at that vanity every day to “get myself together”. It’s “my special place”….a place where I can enjoy the ritual of preparing myself to face the day ahead. As I take the time there to prepare I am able to reflect on what the day may hold. It is a pleasant process (unless I’ve overslept and am running late) that I appreciate each day. I believe everyone should have such a space.

I have incorporated little details into my retreat that make it special to me and my husband. Details such as candles with the scent of the roses on the Cliff walk in Newport RI, our romantic getaway place, pictures of the two of us scattered about, colors and flowers that I love, fabrics in textures that feel good to the touch and patterns that I find beautiful, a CD player for soft classical music at night and motivational/inspirational CD’s in the morning. Furniture that has the curvy French look that I adore and artwork we’ve selected together. Is it perfect? No! Is it exactly the way I want it? Not yet! However, it does reflect my personality and style and it nurtures me each and every day! It is my romantic retreat!

You can begin the journey of creating your own romantic bedroom retreat by starting with these simple steps.

First, dream a little…that’s right…dream! After all it is a bedroom! If you could create any look at all for your own personal retreat what would it be? (If you need a little inspiration check out the magazines and books that feature bedrooms) What colors make you feel calm, inspired, relaxed? What are some of the details that you imagine in your room that would make you smile? That would make you feel pampered? Special? Relaxed? What elements need to be there to help you prepare for your day? To help you unwind for the evening? What kind of lighting do you need? What scents do you smell? What do you hear? What does the furniture look like? Where is it placed?

Second, create a file with pictures of your dream retreat. Get some paint swatches that represent the colors you want to incorporate on the walls, ceiling and in the fabrics. Do you see a lively colorful palette or a tranquil monochromatic palette? Start shopping around and looking at fabrics, bedding, artwork. Whatever will help you to truly envision your new romantic retreat.

Third, determine what your budget is. No matter what your personal budget may be, you can create some version of your dream retreat. If you have a small budget right now…get creative! Can you paint? Paint the walls, paint your furniture. Create your own art work with photos or frame pages from high quality old art books. Check out flea markets, consignment and discount shops. Do you sew? Do you know someone who sews? There is always a way to create beauty in our Homes. We are limited only by our imagination!

Lastly, make a plan and start the journey to creating your romantic retreat. Like a dream…let it unfold over time and before you know it your dream retreat will be a reality.

Refuge In Your Bedroom

Posted under Bedroom

There is perhaps no other room in any home that is as important or as used as the bedroom. The bedroom is our own personal refuge when we have had a hard day. A bedroom gives us the perfect opportunity to lie back, relax and read our favorite novel or newspaper. Maybe that is the reason we often spend so much time deciding on what we put into this one room.

Our interest with bedrooms is evident right from the start. When we go looking for a flat or a home of our own, one of the first things we ask is how many bedrooms are available within the property. Usually, the more bedrooms, the more you will spend on rent or on a mortgage. Of course, we also show concern with the size of those bedrooms. The larger a bedroom, the more personal space we will end up with.

Once we have that bedroom of our very own, then we go looking for some bedroom furniture. Finding bedroom furniture can be fun, but we always want something in our personal refuge that is comfortable and is a direct display of our personality and tastes. Of courese there are beds, dressers, armoires, and various other pieces of furniture specifically designed for the bedroom.

Speaking of furniture, let’s talk materials. There are a great many materials that can be used and often found in a bedroom. You may find that there is wood, metal, plastic or even paper. Each type of material has its own benefits. Sometimes, all of the furniture will match, but other times, a bedroom is a mix-matched collage of favored pieces gathered over time. Choosing bedroom furniture really comes down to picking the option best suited to your individual taste and needs.

Bedroom decor is another aspect of our bedroom where you can add that personal touch. Do you have flowers decorating your room? Do you have sports cars decorating your room? Maybe you even have fairies and princesses. No matter what the decor, you can tell a lot about the occupants of a bedroom simply by checking out the bedroom wall paper or other decorations. More often than not, the first thing you can tell by the decor is the age of the occupants and the second thing that is usually obvious, is the gender of the person.

The amount of money you spend on your bedroom is evident in many ways via the furniture and decorations of that bedroom. Having a mixed collection of expensive and inexpensive furniture and decorations is a great way to have a cost effective bedroom that can look great, without the added expense. For the more affluent, there are actually bedroom designers that can help make your bedroom the resting place that is best suited to you.

Bedroom furniture is often so cherished you may even find and decide to buy antique bedroom decorations and or furniture. Why? Because antique bedroom furniture is often sturdy and built to last. You will find that there are many options when you start looking for a way to decorate your bedroom to suit your taste.

One tip when planning and decorting your first bedroom is to stick to just painted walls. This will allow to change the appearance simply by adding a new coat of paint. Add in some pictures of your choice and you will soon be well on your way to creating your very own place of refuge.

Five Bedroom Decorating Tips For A Professional Look Without The Cost

Posted under Bedroom

We all want our bedrooms to be delightful and inviting as well as being a haven away from all the stresses that the modern world throws at us but many of us don’t know how to properly decorate the bedroom without spending lots of money on professional consultation. Hopefully these bedroom decorating tips will help you create the room of your dreams.

1. Using accents. The best way to achieve this is by using decorative pillows. Pile them high on your bed using a variety of shapes, styles and sizes, colours and patterns. Also candles are a great accent item not only can they add a splash of colour but they provide a wonderful mood altering scent as well. Scent in any bedroom is quite important, so why not look at placing some potpourri in a few small pots to complete the effect.

2. If you want to add enchantment and wonder to a little girl’s room why not consider using special lighting. A small decorative chandelier can be quite inexpensive and your daughter will enjoy looking at the sparkling light.

3. If you want to achieve a fresher look in your bedroom then why not consider using neutral colours. So many items within a bedroom can easily be adapted to match each season all you need to do is change the duvet cover, pillows and pictures for this to be easily achieved on a regular basis. Using netural colors on the walls will help you be able to change the color of the room easier simply by changing out the bedding and accents.

4. If you want to make your decor a little more personalized why not gather a few small mementos based around a particular theme and display them in a picture frame with added depth (shadow box). Just think about the smile that will come to your face every time you see those memories before you. You can also create little vignettes on a side table or bureau of favorite items. When grouping items, remember, that it is best to group in odd numbers – 3 or 5 items together will look better than 2 or 4.

5. If you want to create the illusion of more space in the room then use cool light colours (whites, blues and greens) which will make the walls seem to recede. Also it is a good idea to paint the moldings around the room to match the walls and this will also create the illusion of space. It is also important that you look at the size of the furniture for the room, placing a king sized bed in a small room will just not work and by keeping the room clutter free you will be able to make the most of the space available to you.

These bedroom decorating tips might seem simple and inexpensive, but they can really do the trick and help you to get a designer look in your bedroom for less.
